The What Do You Do Tune-Up
Itās hard to read the label when youāre inside the jar.
There is nothing wrong with you if you struggle to introduce yourself professionally. Boiling down your expertise, passion, and aspirations into a sticky one-liner isnāt easy. Sometimes you just canāt find right words. Sometimes your ājob descriptionā is misleading in a way you can't untangle.
The Tune-Up is designed with one thing in mind: finally nailing an answer. My special sauce is teasing out the language that positions you for where you want to be, in words that feel alive and natural coming out of your mouth.
It's for you if you have a reason to get this right soon. An opportunity you want to feel great about. Or if youāre just exhausted with the idea of fumbling your answer again.
You don't have to own a business for to be right for you. You just need to have work you're trying to explain.

How it goes
Fill out your intake.
It arrives automatically after you book. Youāll answer a few questions to tease out the context, the challenges, and the key ingredients of your answer to the dreaded "what do you do."
Dig in together one-on-one.
This is my jam. Iāll tell you what I'm actually hearing, ask questions to help you get unstuck, and give you honest, specific feedback. What I offer is the brand expertise paired with deep listening and outside perspective that people need to get out of their own way.
You get it in writing.
I take intense notes the whole time (me, not my AI transcriber). Youāll have the answer that emerges from our session AND whatever else surfaces. Often thereās some other good food for thought.
You practice, if you want to.
I host a monthly What Do You Do? Practice session. We get on Zoom for 30 minutes, get paired up with someone to do low-stakes practice of our elevator pitch, and do optional group feedback. Itās actually delightful.
Whatās included
A written intake of thought starters to ensure we make the most of our time together
1 hour one-on-one session (over Zoom)

The recording, yours to keep
A standing seat at the monthly What Do You Do? Practice
Two days before a big conference, I was dreading telling people about my business. I had a different, not very compelling answer every time. After one hour with Lexie, I had two sentences that confidently say what I do and why it matters. I feel ready.

Is an hour really enough?
For this one question, usually yes. The intake does a lot of the work before we sit down, and I've done this enough to know where to dig. If it turns out the answer isn't the whole problem, I'll tell you, and The Groundwork is there.
Do I need to own a business?
No. Plenty of people come to me positioning themselves for something else: a job change, a promotion, a board seat, a LinkedIn presence they've been avoiding for three years.
What if I want to keep going?
The Tune-Up is like an appetizer of The Groundwork. If you decide to continue, you pick up at session two and your Tune-Up fee comes off what you pay.
You already know what you do. You just need the words for it.
Pay and book your first session right here, Iām looking forward to working together.
